In more than 2,000 articles an international cast of contributors such as F. F. Bruce, Carl Henry, George Marsden, and Ronald Nash describe wide-ranging developments and trends of the twentieth century. They discuss people and topics related to biblical studies and theology, national churches and international movements, philosophical trends and non-Christian religions. This work deals with evangelical Christianity as a worldwide phenomenon to a much greater extent than any evangelical reference work. The New 20th-Century Encyclopedia is more a new work that a revision. Approximately two-thirds of the aricles are new, and the bibliography and articles retained from the 1955 edition have been updated and supplemented.
