The Israel Test

Israel is the crucial battlefield for Capitalism and Freedom in our time . . . Gilder reveals Israel as a leader of human civilization, technological progress, and scientific advance . . . And yet Israel is the most hated nation in the world today . . . Hostility toward Israel, like hostility toward the United States, arises primarily from hostility toward capitalist creativity.   Anti-Semitism has always arisen from envy and greed . . . If we allow Israel to be quelled or destroyed, we will be succumbing to forces targeting capitalism and freedom everywhere.  The Israel test is ultimately a test of our own will to truimph over enemies who hate us, as they hate Israel, for what is best within us.
